‘Peranbu’ (Great Love) as the name suggests this story is a concept of love that is shared between a single parent to his physically disabled daughter. Directed by Ram of Thanga Meengal and Kattradhu Thamizh father, the director produced the same emotions that he once done for Thanga Meengal. Bankrolled by Shree Rajalakshmi Films, the music for the film is composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja.
The story talks about a couple and their daughter where the wife runs from the house leaving a letter. Amudhavan (Mammooty) takes control of the house and his daughter who is physically challenged and a teenager. Leaving in the house for the entire day make her to feel bored and here comes Viji (Anjali) a prostitute as a caretaker. The concept is so bold when Pappa (Sadhana) reaches puberty, Amudhavan teaches her how to use a sanitary napkin. The hormone of the teenagers make her feel for young men in the television and any male she meets. There comes a transgender Meera (Anjali Ameer) who teaches her about how to control her emotions.
Every picture in the film speaks while there is a lot criticism for the girl when she meets the society being a physically challenged. Director Ram has revived the emotions between the father-daughter bond.
